Coat Size is based on actual chest measurement with normal ease already allowed in addition to this measurement. If you workout and are built up in your shoulders, you may need to go with at least one size large than your chest measurement.
The Underdrawers Pattern is based on actual waist measurement plus 2" only as these need to fit a bit tighter.
The Trouser size listed is our pattern size based on the average modern sizing. The waist and rise measurements are what the actual pattern measures-the waist at naval and the rise is the measurement from naval through crotch to curve of the lower back. Most men actually wear their modern trousers below the natural waist. If you wear your modern trousers at the natural waist, you would need to order the size nearest your actual measurement.
