We use these for reference and research purposes. We are a pattern
company that is constantly trying to put patterns out that are the best average fit to modern day women's bodies.

Please refer to the above chart for help when measuring

please do not add your own "ease" as we do this for the proper fit of the garment.  We know from past experience, that if you fudge on these measurements, you will NOT be happy with your garment.

REMEMBER:  YOU ARE MEASURING AND IF THE FIT ISN'T RIGHT, THERE IS AN ALTERATION FEE OF 10% OF THE COST  PLUS SHIPPING OF THE GARMENT

We have found it easier for women to put on their corsets and tie a string around their waist-making sure it is at their smallest waist position with corset on. Make sure the string is level front to back

POSTURE TYPE:    

VERY STRAIGHT BACK, SLIGHT BACK CURVATURE, CONSIDERABLE BACK CURVATURE

  Weight Height

BUST:

Under-Bust:

Take a deep breath, Measure around the fullest part of your Bust,

over the nipples

Waist:

DO NOT SUCK IN Measure around the body along the string.  

Hips:

Measure around the fullest part of the hips, approx. 4" down from waist

Neck:

Measure around the neck at the collar line with one finger between you and tape measure.

Sleeve:

From the top of your shoulder, measure 1-1/2" back along armseye, with arm bent at 90 deg./right angle measure from shoulder point, around bent elbow down to the wrist bone.

Armseye (Armhole):
This is where you should allow yourself some ease.

From highest point on shoulder, measure around your armseye (armhole) with your arm hanging down at the side of your body, and at a comfortable "looseness".

Front Length:

From the center neck where your collar bones come together, measure to your string.

Back Length:

From the base of your neck in back measure to the string.

Back Width:

Measure total width from shoulder point to shoulder point, across shoulder blades.

Shoulder Length:

Measure from the side neck to the shoulder point, which is 1-1/2 inches to the back of the armseye from the top of shoulder seam point.

Finished Front Skirt Length:

At this point, if you will be wearing a hoop, put it on for measurement purposes for length of skirt. Measure from front at string, down to the point that is 2 inches from floor. We will actually make the skirt front shorter than back for ease in walking.

Finished Back Skirt Length:

Measure from Back at string, down to the point that is 2 inches from floor.
